Thermal Comfort versus Thermal Delight

CONTEXT: Lecture in the frame of the diploma lectures “Salisburgo. Tra memoria e contemporaneity“, Accademia di architettura, Mendrisio, Università della Svizzera italiana, 16.11.2017
By this presentation, I invited you to design—in the frame of your diploma project in Salzburg—not just a building but also to develop an innovative thermal project for the city. I introduced an new way of looking at the thermal conditions of cities: the city as a cluster of overlapping and mutually interacting microclimates where the inside is not independent from the outside and vice versa. The concept of microclimate transcends the modern idea of a strict devide into the inside and outdoor space at all costs (buildings and outdoor spaces).
